TERMS OF SURVEY: Work order agreement

With use after purchase, you may discover problems that the surveyor missed. No assurance can be made that every problem will be discovered during the limited time of an inspection/sea trial.

Guarantees are normally provided by manufacturers and some sellers.

Marinetech does not provide any guarantees/warranties whatsoever either expressed or implied and in the event of omissions or errors Marinetech/Charles Avalos will not be responsible for consequential damages and liability will be limited to the cost of the survey. It is only under these conditions that we agree to inspect the subject vessel.

We wish to make you aware that we provide gas engine compression testing, oil analysis and corrosion surveys at additional cost. If you do not request such tests, they will NOT be performed.

ENGINE OIL ANALYSIS IS RECOMMENDED AND SHOULD BE DONE AS THIS CAN PICK UP IMPENDING CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE! See OIL ANALYSIS

Client is responsible for haul out appointment and fee. Areas under stores will not be inspected. Make sure all areas are clear of stores for survey or be there to help..

Only one trip is covered under survey fee. If necessary to do second trip, it will be billed at additional cost. We cannot survey a shrink wrapped boat!

On sailboats, rigging inspections are done from deck level. For a full rigging inspection you should hire a rigger. For a full engine inspection, get an engine survey.

WAIT FOR THE WRITTEN REPORT BEFORE YOU ASSUME ANYTHING. Verbal reports are unreliable and may lead to misunderstandings.

You should not expect your surveyor to word his Report in a manner that suites you or adjust the Fair Market Value to your desires. If he does, then you have found a dishonest surveyor and everything else that comes with that!

If you decide druring the course of a survey that you no longer want to buy the boat, you can end the survey and pay the hourly fee based on $90 per hour travel and labor with a 2 hour minimum.

We are General Marine Surveyors. It may be in your own best interest to get a factory trained mechanic specific to your make engine to do a seperate Engine Survey.

Our job is to try to find problems and report the facts. We do not perform repairs or maintenance of any kind. Boat must be fully commissioned and ready for inspection. We do not commission boats.

PAYMENT IS EXPECTED AT THE END OF SURVEY DAY. IF FROM OUT OF TOWN OR MORE THAN 20 MILE TRAVEL, THEN AT SCHEDULING. NO REFUNDS AFTER PAYMENT UNLESS SURVEY REPORT IS REJECTED BY INSURANCE OR FINANCING INSTITUTION. MY GUARANTEE IS ACCEPTANCE OF REPORT, NOT THE ISSUING OF INSURANCE OR FINANCING.
